An Appeal – Ayurveda Bhushana Dr. M. Venkatesh Shastri Memorial Wellness Centre
Shri Subrahmanya Sabha, a registered society founded in 1907, has successfully completed 119 years of dedicated service to humanity. Over the decades, the Sabha has established a fully furnished hostel facility for 125 students, helping to fulfill the educational aspirations of hundreds from rural background. Our community centre remains a vibrant hub for promoting culture and fine arts. Driven by a commitment to promote higher education, the Sabha distributes approximately Rs. 100 lakhs annually in loan scholarships to underprivileged students. The Sabha also manages “Shiva Sadana” in Puttur – a home for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals providing accommodation for 100 seniors and 60 residents with special needs. Supported by a team of 20 selfless staff members and caregivers, our organization continues to bring smiles to those who deserve them most.
The Polali Project
The Sabha has recently acquired 5.5 acres of land near Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple in Polali. To expand our horizon of service, we propose to launch a series of socially impactful projects at this site, with an estimated total investment of Rs. 5,000 Lakhs to be implemented in phases.
Phase I : The Wellness Centre The first phase involves the establishment of a state-of-the-art Wellness Centre, which will include: Integrated Medical OPD Catering to the emergency and primary healthcare needs of the local community.
Preventative Health Hub: Focused on disease prevention andholistic health promotion.
Ayurvedic Therapy Centre: Offering specialized treatments such as Panchakarma, Shirodhara, Oil Massage, Yoga and Physiotherapy for chronic ailments.
Vocational Training Schools: Specialized programs to train technicians in traditional therapies
and a school for training school dropouts in geriatric care.
The facility will feature a 20-bed inpatient ward, modern classrooms, and dedicated accommodation for staff
and students. The total investment for Phase I is Rs. 1,000 lakhs.
A Vision in Motion
We are honored to announce that Sri Vijaya Prakash Shastri has committed Rs. 200 Lakhs to this project in cherished memory of his grandfather, Ayurveda Bhushana Dr. M. Venkatesha Shastri, Mangalore.
With the divine blessings of their Holinesses Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharathithirtha Mahaswamigalu and Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharathi Mahaswamigalu of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham, the foundation stone was laid by Sri Pradeep Kumar Panja, Chairman, Karnataka Bank Ltd. on March 20, 2026. Construction now is in full swing. The 40,000 sq. ft. structure – comprising a basement, ground and three floors is expected to be completed by May 2027.
